How the work runs
- Staged machine polishing. Cutting and refinement stages remove defects progressively, checking the finish as we go.
- Final inspection. Panels are inspected in natural and artificial light before protection is applied.
- Protection. A sealant, wax or coating locks in the corrected finish.
- Wash and decontamination. A full wash, iron remover, tar remover and clay bar treatment give a clean surface to work on.
- Paint assessment. We inspect the paint under light to judge defect depth and choose the right stage of correction.

Guide: paint correction explained
Frequently asked questions
Is machine polishing safe for my paint?
When done properly, yes. Paint is assessed first, the least aggressive approach that achieves the result is used, and panels are checked as work progresses. That is why correction is a skilled job rather than a quick buff.
How much does paint correction cost?
From £250 for multi-stage correction. Single-stage machine polishing is from £95 and two-stage from £150. Prices vary by vehicle size and paint condition, so contact us for a free quote.
Should I have ceramic coating after correction?
It is the ideal next step, because coating locks in the corrected finish and protects it for years. A sealant or wax also works if coating is not what you want yet.
What is paint correction?
Paint correction is multi-stage machine polishing that removes defects from the clear coat: swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and haze. It restores depth, gloss and clarity rather than just hiding defects under a filler or wax.
Will paint correction remove all scratches?
It removes swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation very effectively. Scratches that have gone through the clear coat cannot be polished out completely, though they can often be improved. We assess the paint first and explain honestly what correction can and cannot achieve.
